Skid plate for the protection of the: engine, radiator, front bumper The skid plate is new and fits perfectly for the Audi A4 B6, with the following engine/drive versions: 1.6 - 2.0, 1.8T - manufactured between 2000 and 2005. It has an opening for the oil sump, so it's removal won't be necessary to change the oil. Made out of 2 mm thick Steel plate. Screws, nuts, clips, all fastening accessories are included. All skid plates are powder coated to prevent corrosion. The exterior of the skid plate is provided with Steel reinforcements, which increases the resistance to impact. |

Problemlose Abwicklung, schnelle Lieferung. Leider wurden beide Pakete beim Versand beschädigt und die Kanten der beiden Bleche wurden an mehreren Stellen blank geschliffen. Ich muss diese Stellen neu lackieren, damit nichts rostet. Hier sind beide Beteiligte gefragt: DPD ist viel zu grob mit der Ware umgegangen UND die Bleche müssen mit dickerem Karton verpackt werden. Im Innern muss durch Polstermaterial sichergestellt werden, dass die Bleche nicht ständig herumrutschen. An Kanten muss erforderlichenfalls ein Kantenschutz aufgesteckt werden.

The skid plate looks good, feels solid and provides a noticeable aerodynamic improvement on the highway in comparison to no under tray. I also noticed that the reduced airflow over the gearbox allowed for smoother shifts (manual 6speed) as the transmission oil was able to get up to temperature easier, and there may have been a slight increase in chassis stiffness. Oil change was not an issue. Be warned though! This product does not fit the cabriolet models (such as my 2004 A4 B6 Cabrio), as the chassis-braces on the convertibles get in the way of the elevated posterior portion of the engine skid plate. My mechanic was able to fit the skid plate anyway by trimming away a part of the vertical portion, which allowed for the skid plate to be slid into place while the chassis brace fit in the slot that was trimmed away. The skid plate pressing on the chassis brace may actually be what caused the additional chassis stiffness. It would be 5 stars if the description of the product stated that it did not fit cabriolet models.
